Sinclair Prosser Gasior attorneys are members of the esteemed American Academy of Estate Planning Attorneys (AAEPA). The AAEEPA is an organization of attorneys from across the country that are solely dedicated to estate planning, estate administration and preservation of wealth. I have been a part of a member firm for over a decade and I have seen just the impact the AAEPA has on my firm and the community here.
Continuing Education Requirement
For starters, the AAEPA requires 36 hours of continuing education (CE) credits per year. Strangely enough, Md is one of very few states that does not require its attorneys to complete CE credits. This focus on education has brought me to dozens of conferences over the years focused on the cutting edge legal strategies and education on legal updates.
Access to Nation-wide Resources
Second, the community of attorneys across the country provides big law level resources to small local community firms across the country. I never tire of telling a client who may have cross-state estate planning issues, oh I have a good friend in that other state I can refer you to, knowing that I in fact do have good friends in those states that do incredible work for their clients.
Mentorship on Customer Service
And lastly, the focus of AAEPA of coaching and mentoring law firms on how to provide the best service to their clients, but also to run effective, efficient great law firms is paralleled. All too often small business just meander through whatever challenges they face without any real guidance or clear vision. AAEEPA is committed to focusing law firm owners on their vision because without that, they will not be able to see clearly when challenges arise.
When talking to your estate planner, ask them if they are members of AAEPA or any other organization and how that impacts their practice.
