The year of 2013 has been christened “The Year of Change” at Sinclair Prosser Gasior because of the numerous transitions that our law firm has witnessed. Our first change was expanding our office space. With our main office located at 900 Bestgate Road in Maryland for 13 years, our need for space has grown with our staff over the years. Along with our lease of additional office in this same building came the need for new furniture, computers, copiers, printers and phone system. Amazingly, just copiers alone now act as a printer, fax machine and scanner all in one and learning all of the new features is complicated. With technology moving at lightning speed, these different pieces of equipment have changed and challenged us to recognize and utilize all aspects of each machine.
Another new and very exciting change has been the addition of two new attorneys to our law firm. Brooke Shemer graduated from the University of Baltimore and was sworn into the Maryland Bar on December 19th of this year. Congratulations, Brooke! Since September, Brooke has been working with Attorneys Colleen Sinclair Prosser and Nicole Livingston to learn the systems of the law firm. She will be meeting with clients to help them with their estate planning and currently oversees the Estate Administration department of the law firm.
Attorney Jon Gasior also recently joined our firm and will head up the Elder Law department in the firm. One of his many responsibilities will be to develop our Eldercare Channel which is a resource for members of our community to get information on elder care services in Maryland. For orientation, he is working closely with Attorney Nicole Livingston in assisting our clients in establishing their estate plan. In January, Jon will present our living trust seminars to the public to educate about the importance of estate planning and the essentials of a comprehensive estate plan.
You can look forward to hearing both Brooke and Jon on WNAV as they join Nicole Livingston and Colleen Prosser on “Your Estate Planning Matters”; a weekly podcast discussing timely topics in estate planning and elder law.
With 2013 fading behind us, we look forward to 2014 as a year of progress. Our attorneys and staff at Sinclair Prosser Gasior will continue to assist our clients in the essentials of estate planning and estate administration as we have done for 19 years.
