What happens if a third-party refuses to honor a Power of Attorney?

Although the authority granted in a Power of Attorney should be clear, it is not uncommon for a third party to refuse to honor that authority. A third party may claim the POA was executed too long ago or question the authenticity of the document. A third party may also refuse to honor a POA unless it is created using their form.
